Die Cutting For Rubber
Die-cutting rubber requires specialized equipment, specifically steel rule dies. The flatbed die-cutting method is slower than the other two but can handle thicker materials. Cuts made with a kiss cutter go through everything but the backing material, ideal for adhesive-lined materials. Broaching is a specialized technique of die-cutting used when the material is exceptionally thick. Cutting with a rotary die is quicker and more accurate, but the dies themselves are more costly.
